The Other Einstein (Sourcebooks) by Marie Benedict offers a window into the fascinating story of Einstein’s first wife. A brilliant physicist in her own right, her contribution to the special theory of relativity is hotly debated and may have been inspired by her own profound and very personal insight. A book based on the real-life of Mileva Maric with factual and fictional details, it offers readers a window into a brilliant, fascinating woman whose light was lost in Einstein’s enormous shadow.

“The moment I first learned about Mileva, I discovered that she was fascinating in her own right and I felt compelled to tell her tale,” said Marie Benedict, author of The Other Einstein. “When I learned that The Other Einstein had been selected to be the next Big Library Read, I was elated, to say the least. The idea that library readers would be introduced to Mileva “Mitza” Marić and that they might discuss her singular life thrilled me. It helped fulfill the sense of duty that I feel to share Mileva’s historic, yet modern, story with as many readers as possible.”
