CLEVELAND — May 10, 2017 — Award-winning journalist for ABC News and NPR, Cokie Roberts will take center stage at OverDrive’s Digipalooza 2017 Conference this summer. A bestselling author who has touched millions of readers, Cokie will deliver the keynote address to hundreds of librarians and educators at the international user group conference, August 3, 2017, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Digipalooza was created in 2006 and is a unique educational and networking conference for libraries and schools. OverDrive, along with forward-thinking librarians, will present innovative and vital sessions on the digital library world. In 2015, nearly 500 librarians from 38 states and four countries attended.

In her more than forty years in broadcasting, Cokie Roberts has won countless awards, including three Emmys. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame and was cited by the American Women in Radio and Television as one of the fifty greatest women in the history of broadcasting. In addition to her reporting, Roberts has written six New York Times bestsellers, most dealing with the roles of women in U.S. history, including the children’s version of Ladies of Liberty published in December 2016.

Ms. Roberts holds more than twenty-five honorary degrees and serves on the boards of several non-profit institutions. President George W. Bush appointed her to his Commission on Service and Civic Participation. In 2008, the Library of Congress named her a “Living Legend,” one of the very few Americans to have attained that honor. She is the mother of two and grandmother of six.
“Cokie has enriched our nation and readers all over the world in a variety of ways,” said Shannon Lichty, Digipalooza Conference Chair and Director of Partner Services at OverDrive. “Having Cokie as the keynote speaker aligns with the core of our mission to empower schools and libraries to promote a world enlightened by reading.”

Digipalooza will take place August 2-4, 2017 in Cleveland, Ohio. For more information and to register, visit digipalooza.com.
