Yesterday we shared the record breaking stats from 2015 as libraries across the world saw circulation increases from their digital collections. Today we’re excited to announce that another record was broke in 2015 as 33 separate library systems across North America circulated over one million digital titles through their OverDrive websites.

Of the library systems that hit this goal, 20 of them were stand alone libraries. This group was led by Toronto Public Library who had more than three million digital checkouts and King County and New York Public Libraries who both had over two million. All of these libraries saw significant growth from 2014 as shown below:

In addition to these city and county libraries, 13 library consortia circulated at least one million digital books in 2015 including: Wisconsin Public Library Consortium (21% growth in circulation over 2014), Greater Phoenix Digital Library (AZ) (18%), The Ohio Digital Library (23%) with over three million digital books borrowed; Tennessee READS (24%), Digital Downloads – A Library Collaboration (OH) (24%) and Maryland’s Digital Library (21%) with over two million; Ontario Library Service Consortium (20%) , Oregon Digital Library Consortium (13%), North Carolina Digital Library (22%), Kentucky Libraries Unbound (30%), My Media Mall (IL) (7%), Live-brary.com (NY) (25%) and Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MI) (18%) with over one million.
