OverDrive to present new flexible consortia options and the future of digital library lending at ALA
During the American Library Association (ALA) winter meetings in Atlanta, OverDrive will present statistics from a record setting year in digital library lending as well as the new features and products that libraries and users will take advantage of in 2017. Last year, readers borrowed 196 million digital titles through OverDrive-powered websites, a 21% growth over 2015. Our goal for 2017 is to make the public library mainstream for every library in every city. At ALA, we’ll provide updates on the enhancements coming to the new OverDrive experience, state of the art access models and the latest digital library management tools that align with the ALA’s continued movement to show how Libraries Transform communities.
One of the many exciting developments coming in early 2017 to the new OverDrive will provide more options for Advantage libraries that belong to a shared collection. Consortia members now have more curation capabilities, enabling collections to be fully customized to reach more readers in your community. We’ll offer demonstrations on how Advantage libraries can market and link directly to their own, branded collection while also promoting access to the larger consortium collection.
As digital library budgets continue to grow, accurate and instant reporting tools have never been more important. OverDrive has Insights available to help you get the most out of your dollars through performance analyses, collection automation and comparative reports. At ALA, we’ll walk through how to access these powerful reporting tools.
From a content standpoint, we’re excited to present on the digital book club lending model available through OverDrive which brings your entire community together through a shared reading experience. We’ll also be highlighting the hottest titles that are sure to fly off your digital bookshelves this year including soon to be bestsellers and content available in over 100 languages. These books, both native-language content and popular translated titles, help you reach every member of your community. Speaking of community outreach, we’ll also be providing an exciting update on the return of the Digital Bookmobile in early 2017 as well.
Throughout the conference at ALA, OverDrive team members will be available for one on one meetings with library partners in booth #910. We also will be offering presentation every two hours and one lucky librarian will win a Kindle Paperwhite during each one. Be sure to stop by our booth in the convention center to say hi to your OverDrive reps, learn about all the exciting enhancements coming in 2017 and, perhaps, even win a device from OverDrive. See you in Atlanta!
