The National Library Board of Singapore (NLB) has long been a pioneer in digital library lending, offering a robust collection of 130,000+ titles while also taking a unique approach to marketing their service to new users. This trend has continued with the launch of the first-ever Digital Business Library, now available on their OverDrive-powered digital collection. For several years, OverDrive has created specialized “eReading room” pages for libraries including Kids and Teens eReading Rooms for youth and Screening Rooms for streaming video content, and now NLB is the first library in the world to offer a Digital Business Library.

The site, which is easily accessible through the tabs on their OverDrive digital collection, offers 24/7 instant access to over 19,000 world-class eBooks and audiobooks meant to empower business professionals. Users will discover content that spans the latest trends in the business world including Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence, Neuroscience and Data Analytics. Having this varied professional content available all in one place, digitally, saves people time and money and entices a new sector of their community to use the public library.

To develop the catalog, OverDrive and NLB consulted with leading international training and development experts for current trends in business and professional development. Based on this consultation and research, thousands of titles were selected in a variety of subjects, and specialty collections were curated in a number of areas such as Accelerate Your Personal Productivity, What’s Your Emotional Intelligence IQ and the Future of Tech & Innovation.
