Tyler Childers Promotes Literacy and Libraries with Hickman Holler Reading Club

Partnership with Libby brings curated book recommendations to libraries nationwide

CLEVELAND – September 18, 2025 – Today, country singer-songwriter Tyler Childers announced the launch of the Hickman Hollar Reading Club. Through a partnership with Libby, the library reading app, the reading club provides library patrons nationwide with monthly book recommendations from Tyler. As an avid reader himself, the book titles selected for the Hickman Holler Reading Club are a curated selection of Tyler’s personal favorites.

The first title for the Hickman Holler Reading Club is “On the Road” by Jack Kerouac, which inspired the name of Tyler’s 2025 tour. Based on Kerouac’s adventures with Neal Cassady, “On the Road” tells the story of two friends whose four cross-country road trips are a quest for meaning and true experience.

In addition to the curated reading list, the Hickman Holler Reading Club and Libby will host pop-up libraries during Tyler’s On the Road Tour in partnership with local libraries. At these pop-up libraries, tour attendees can sign up for library cards*, learn more about their local library’s resources, and enter for a chance to win a book signed by Tyler. The pop-up libraries will be hosted in the Reverb Action Village alongside other local organizations and non-profits.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Tyler to champion literacy and increase accessibility of these life changing stories through libraries across the country,” said Jen Leitman, Chief Marketing Officer of OverDrive, the creator of Libby. “It’s especially meaningful for us to launch this partnership during Library Card Sign Up Month. Tyler’s book selections are incredibly powerful and sure to inspire a love for both classic and contemporary literature.”

Readers can join the Hickman Holler Reading Club by signing up for a library card, downloading the Libby app, and borrowing Tyler’s book club picks from their local library. To learn more, visit https://pages.libbylife.com/TylerChilders.

*Attendees must meet library criteria to sign up for a card.
