Janson Media Signs Distribution Deal with OverDrive
Libraries to have access to new videos on cooking, travel, history and more
Harrington Park, NJ and Cleveland, OH – October, 2007 – Janson Media and OverDrive today announced an agreement that will add the DVD/video publisher’s catalog to OverDrive’s download media catalog. The deal expands Janson Media’s digital distribution in public libraries, and enhances OverDrive’s broad collection of quality programs, bringing partner libraries access to a variety of new videos for online lending via download covering subjects including cooking, travel, biography, pop culture and more.
OverDrive is the world’s leading provider of download media to libraries with 75,000 audio book, eBook, music, and video titles serving 5,000 library partners worldwide. Later this year, OverDrive will add hundreds of Janson Media titles to their catalog of 4,000 download videos. Libraries can select Janson titles from OverDrive to lend via download from their websites. Janson titles include biographies about such classic Hollywood movie stars as Marilyn Monroe and Cary Grant, cooking videos with Jacques Pepin, travel series like The Greatest Journeys on Earth and more titles to satisfy the curiosity of library patrons.
“Janson Media’s goal is to produce programming that is entertaining, informative, thought-provoking, and enlightening,” said Betsy Van Ost, Director of the Janson Media DVD Catalog. “OverDrive provides a great new way for us to bring our quality programs to libraries – through the convenience of download video.”
“We are excited to add to an extensive video line-up and believe libraries will be drawn to Janson Media’s titles for their variety and great story-telling quality,” said Erica Lazzaro, Senior Content Acquisition and Licensing Counsel at OverDrive. “These family-friendly programs will be a great addition to any public library collection.”
