OverDrive Posts Record Year for eBook & Digital Content Distribution
Tens of thousands of digital titles from hundreds of leading publishers added to OverDrive’s catalog
Las Vegas, NV – Jan. 5, 2011 – Consumer Electronics Show – OverDrive (www.overdrive.com), the leading global distributor of eBooks, audiobooks, and digital content, today announced a record expansion of its global network, with retail, OEM, library, and school partners now in more than 20 countries and content in more than 50 languages. In 2010, a record 185,000 eBook, audiobook, music, and video titles were added to OverDrive’s catalog, which features one of the world’s largest collections of EPUB eBooks.
OverDrive also established dozens of new partnerships with suppliers, including Macmillan, Random House Germany, Random House India, Macmillan Education, Faber Factory, and Carlton Books Ltd. These publishers join existing partners, such as Books on Tape, HarperCollins, Hachette Book Group, Harlequin, Marvel Comics, McGraw-Hill and TOKYOPOP, to deliver digital content via OverDrive’s global network.

New retail partners that now tap into OverDrive’s digital content catalog include: Augen Electronics (US), Avusa (South Africa), DocStoc (US), EC Media International/Wink Store (India), Gato Sabido (Brazil), Papataka (Indonesia), and Xue-Si Books (Taiwan). These retailers join Borders.com, Barnesandnoble.com, LivrariaCultura.com.br, Waterstones.co.uk, WHSmith.co.uk, and dozens of other online retailers selling download audiobooks and/or eBooks supplied by OverDrive.
