OverDrive’s ALA Midwinter Preview: Creating Reading Happiness
By: Adam Sockel, OverDrive’s Social Media Specialist
This weekend the library world will come together in Boston for the annual American Library Association Midwinter conference. We will be there demo’ing “the new OverDrive” websites and OverDrive Insights, and showing the latest updates to the features and catalog that have made OverDrive the most used digital library lending service in the world. OverDrive’s theme for 2016 is “Create Reading Happiness” and we’re committed to helping libraries create happy readers by continuing to provide the most content, the most advanced innovations and best user experience available in the industry.
During the conference, Team OverDrive will offer a look at the new OverDrive, which will be rolled out in the coming months to all of our public library partners. This preview will highlight the simplified onboarding process, our brand new recommendation engine and the new curating tools available to libraries.
Last month we introduced OverDrive Insights, the most in-depth way to look at your digital collection. In our booth at ALAM, we’ll demo a new part of these reports, OverDrive Dashboard, which lets you instantly review your recent user activity, borrowing trends and purchasing history in one location. Adding the titles your patrons want is the best way to create happy readers, and OverDrive Insights and Dashboard makes this easier than ever. We’ll also demo updates to our groundbreaking OverDrive Read and OverDrive Listen platforms which enable users instant access to your eBooks and audiobooks without apps or downloads. It’s never been easier to reach and engage with your readers thanks to your digital library.
During exhibit times, we will be presenting every two hours and attendees have the opportunity to win a Samsung Galaxy simply by learning about what’s new in 2016. If you’re attending ALA mMidwinter, be sure to stop by booth #1653 to learn about our latest developments, have your picture taken with our #CreateReadingHappiness posters and get a sneak peek of the most innovative digital lending platform that will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
