What’s New in the Resource Center: Temporary tattoos, Halloween and more!
By: Christina Samek, Marketing Specialist.
October is finally here. It means Halloween is right around the corner and it’s now socially acceptable to hang ghostly figures from the trees in my yard. I can erect little cardboard gravestones and dawn a witch hat…it short, go overboard. I love this time of year. If you are in the camp who prefer the warmer months, perhaps these updates from the Resource Center will get you in the spirit!
We’ve added a new video that showcases one of our key messages: “OverDrive is for everyone.” Share across your school channels to reach all kinds of readers–students, parents and educators–to encourage reading at home, reading at school, reading anywhere and everywhere. Available for embed now, in Marketing & Outreach > Digital Resources > Videos.
Speaking of new, have a little fun with your students and share our temporary tattoos. Multiple, fun designs are available in our downloadable zip file. Check out our best practices for printing recommendations. And don’t worry, they wash right off! Available now in Marketing & Outreach > Print-Ready Materials > What’s New.
In the spirit of the season, we’ve also added new event ideas. Get a little spooky this Halloween with our eBOOk Story Hour and Stream & Scream events! Dedicate a story hour to kid-friendly eBooks with a Halloween theme and/or have a little fun and spread the word about your streaming video collection with a screening at your school’s library or auditorium. Each event includes instructions, a poster, a web graphic, and a list of recommended titles hand-selected by our on-staff librarians! Review now in Marketing & Outreach > Student Activites & Classroom Use.
Lastly, speaking of the Resource Center, we want to know what you think and how we can make it even better! Take our survey for a chance to win an OverDrive prize package including:
• A Fire tablet
• A customized hanging vinyl banner
• Printed promotional materials
• And more!
