Professional Book Nerds Author Interviews – Now free for your digital collection
By: Adam Sockel, Co-host of the Professional Book Nerds podcast
For the past two years, the Professional Book Nerds podcast has been providing weekly book recommendations and author interviews to listeners from more than 100 countries. We’re excited to announce that you can now add our 80+ author interviews to your library’s OverDrive collection as a simultaneous use plan for free in OverDrive Marketplace.
These interviews, which have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, offer readers insights into some of their favorite authors’ writing processes and craft while also introducing them to new authors they may not have heard of yet. In the collection you’ll find conversations with Pulitzer Prize winners like Colson Whitehead, #1 bestsellers George Saunders, James Patterson, Jodi Picoult, Tana French and Lee Child, famed celebrities like Alan Cumming and YA sensations including Leigh Bardugo, Marieke Nijkamp, Marissa Meyer, Jason Reynolds and dozens more. You’ll even find frequent episodes with America’s Librarian, Nancy Pearl.
These interviews can be downloaded and enjoyed like any audiobook in your collection and they will show up in search results for those specific authors. As we interview more authors, new episodes will be automatically added to your collection. A perfect way to curate your collection is to feature episodes of the podcast to align with special collections, book clubs or community reading events you’re promoting. The Ohio Digital Library has done this with their featured collection and will be updating it frequently.
Best of all, every time a patron listens to this free content, it counts as a checkout for the library! Head to Marketplace today to add these interviews from the Professional Book Nerds to your collection today and, if you want weekly book recommendations, be sure to subscribe to the Professional Book Nerds in iTunes or wherever you listen to podcasts today!
