19,000 Libraries Saddle Up for Big Library Read, the World’s Largest eBook Club
USA Today bestselling author Lacy Williams’ “Cowboy Pride” available through public libraries with no waitlist
CLEVELAND, OHIO – July 11, 2018 – The summer heats up as thousands of readers worldwide join Big Library Read to borrow, read and discuss USA Today bestselling author Lacy Williams’s romance novel, Cowboy Pride, through their local library. From July 9-23, readers can borrow the ebook with no waitlists or holds by visiting their library’s digital collection or downloading the Libby app. More than 19,000 libraries worldwide will participate in the16th selection of the largest global digital book club.
Big Library Read is facilitated by OverDrive, the leading platform for ebooks, audiobooks and magazines available in more than 90 percent of public libraries in the U.S. and Canada. As the winning title chosen from 22 novels by popular vote of readers and librarians, Cowboy Pride tells the Wild West version of Pride and Prejudice.
“How is it that a love story written over two hundred years ago can still resonate so strongly with us?” Williams ponders. “Current technology allows us nearly unlimited access to information, including books. So many books. But there is still something powerfully emotional about words like Mr. Darcy’s. So, from one Austen lover to another, allow me to say, ‘You are too generous to trifle with me.’”
Big Library Read is an international reading program that connects millions of readers around the world simultaneously with an ebook through the library. Readers can join an online discussion about the book at https://discuss.biglibraryread.com/. The free program runs for two weeks and only requires a library card to get started. Cowboy Pride can be read on all major computers and devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phones and tablets, Chromebook™ and Kindle® [U.S. libraries only] without wait lists or holds. The title will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, and there are no late fees.
