This week, librarians from all over the world will be heading to Washington, D.C. for the annual American Library Association conference. Team OverDrive will be there, sharing exciting news and updates about Libby, Marketplace, and library and school integration.

When you visit booth #2915, you’ll see presentations on marketing best practices that will ensure you can bring new readers to the library throughout the rest of 2019 and beyond, including our new OverDrive Digital Showcase. You’ll even be able to demo this new free outreach platform for readers to discover and borrow from your digital collection.

Spend less, circ more

Our other main presentation is all about the ways you can spend less and circulate more and features tips being used by your library peers right now to maximize their budget while meeting patron demand. We also have two presentations from industry-leading librarians about how they’re leading the way in connecting their community through digital reading. Everyone who sits in on a presentation will be entered into a raffle to win a free device from OverDrive.

Best practices and what’s new

You’ll be able to take these best practices home with you courtesy of our What’s New sheet available in our booth, which also highlights all of the exciting things happening at OverDrive. Our Lucky Day feature allows you to reserve select copies of in-demand titles without waitlist or holds, allowing readers to skip the line for popular books. For those readers who like listening to audiobooks in their car, the Libby app is now compatible with Apple CarPlay, and we will have information on how libraries and schools can partner together to get more books into the hands of students.
