Audiobook trend continues even in time of crisis
After the United States declared a state of emergency on March 13, many public libraries and most schools closed their physical buildings. Since then, demand for digital content has increased, both among public library readers and students doing remote learning.
For the past several years, audiobooks have been the fastest-growing format and that continues to be true. Over the past two months, juvenile and young adult content have been in high-demand, with juvenile audiobooks seeing a 49 percent average daily growth compared to the weeks leading up to March 13. Check out this eye-opening report highlighting some of the data behind the success of juvenile content during this time. See for yourself why you should start growing your audiobook collection today!
Users were listening to audiobooks prior to March 13, are continuing to listen at home during this time, and will most likely continue to listen after normal routines resume. Don’t forget to shop our audiobook sale starting June 1 to save thousands on audiobooks.
