Libby and TNT Bring “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” to Life With Free Public Screenings and Curated Reading Collection
Fans can use the Libby app to check out e-books and audiobooks inspired by season 2 or attend community screenings in Los Angeles and Brooklyn
CLEVELAND – July 22, 2026 – Libby, the leading library reading app, and TNT are bringing season 2 of the hit fantasy-adventure series, “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” to audiences ahead of its Aug. 2 premiere. The collaboration connects the show’s themes of storytelling, adventure and discovery with the books, entertainment and shared experiences available through local libraries.
“This collaboration with TNT brings together a series rooted in storytelling and imagination with an app that connects readers with their local libraries every day,” said Jen Leitman, CMO of OverDrive, Libby’s parent company. “We hope fans discover that a library card opens the door to a whole world of stories for free. Whether they join us at a screening or explore the curated collection from home, the library is where the story continues.”
“At TNT, we’re always looking for ways to extend the viewing experience beyond the screen, which makes Libby a natural partner for season two of ‘The Librarians: The Next Chapter,’” said Melissa Chambless, EVP of Marketing, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Through these preview screenings and curated reading collection, we are inviting audiences to immerse themselves in the spirit of magic and adventure that defines the series.”
A spinoff of the acclaimed original television and film franchise, “The Librarians: The Next Chapter” centers on Vikram Chamberlain, a time-traveling “Librarian” from the past who becomes stranded in the present. Upon returning to his castle in Serbia – now a museum – he accidentally unleashes magic across the continent.
The sophomore season contains even more mystery, magic and mayhem as the newly expanded team of Librarians and unconventional heroes are pushed to their limits, taking on fantastical missions filled with high-stakes challenges, unexpected responsibilities and unpredictable characters, including familiar faces and special guest stars.
The celebration extends to the Libby app, where a curated collection draws on the mystery, imagination and supernatural intrigue at the heart of “The Librarians: The Next Chapter.” Featuring e-books and audiobooks centered on magic, history and high-stakes quests, the collection offers readers the opportunity to explore new stories with a similar tone. Anyone with a library card can browse and borrow available titles at no cost through their local library, whether or not they attend a screening.
Libby and TNT will also host two free public screenings of the season 2 premiere with local library partners, allowing audiences to experience the show together, hear from cast members and engage with libraries that make reading and entertainment accessible year-round. Advance registration is required, and seating is limited. Tickets are still available for the Brooklyn screening: https://www.bklynlibrary.org/calendar/premiere-screening-brooklyn-heights-library-20260730-0530pm.
