Marketing kits to celebrate the freedom to read this July
When summer rolls around, my TBR is stacked sky-high with thrillers because my favorite type of beach read involves marriage and murder. (Admittedly, this says a lot about me, none of which I really want to take time to examine.) No matter what genres your patrons are tucking into their beach bags or, for our Australia and New Zealand partners, cozying up with on a cold winter night, our Resource Center has marketing kits you can use to promote your collection all month long!
July Social Media Must Haves
One of my favorite things about summer are all the adventures waiting with each new day. This year’s Collaborate Summer Library Program theme is “Adventure Begins at your Library” and we have a marketing kit with fliers and bookmarks you can use to promote all the adventures found in ebooks and audiobooks. With marketing materials for both kids and teens, all the readers in your community are sure to find new experiences in the pages of a book this summer.
And if you’re in the United States, be sure to also grab our Fourth of July social media graphic to encourage all of your users to celebrate the freedom to read!
July is Disability Pride Month! This month marks the 1990 enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This law extends civil rights protections to persons with disabilities and assured that all Americans would benefit from their unique contributions. To help spread the word to your patrons about Disability Pride Month, download the social media graphic from the Resource Center!
Recommended lists for Disability Pride Month:
No passport required! World Literary Tour Must Haves
Speaking of New Zealand, June’s World Literary Tour stop took us to Auckland! With its volcanos, black-sand beaches, lush rainforests, whale-watching harbors, and exceptional stargazing, it’s no wonder New Zealand has such a rich literary landscape. Visit Marketplace to shop recommended lists and curated collections featuring Kiwi stories, Indigenous voices, and Māori language works from various Oceania publishers.
Be sure to also check out the Resource Center to find the accompanying marketing kit to promote New Zealand content to your community. On the Resource Center you can also shop previous World Literary Tour stops including South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Argentina and more.
Follow along in July as our World Literary Tour makes two stops, first in Krakow, Poland then Singapore, Southeast Asia!
Lights! Camera! Kanopy Must Haves
For Disability Pride Month, Kanopy has curated a collection of thoughtful documentaries and narrative films featuring those living with disabilities. View the full Disability Pride Month Collection of Kanopy films here. Looking to share the Disability Pride Month collection with your community? Look no further than the monthly toolkit available on the Resource Center. Inside you’ll find graphics, suggested copy, and a programming guide.
