Last year, our World Literary Tour stopped in Singapore, Southeast Asia to celebrate the city-state’s linguistic diversity in literature. This year we are returning  to explore the individual voices and stories coming from Singaporean publishers. With the emergence of new writers and an abundance of content being published, there are more opportunities than ever before to find your next favorite read from the Lion City.

Between now and July 31, visit Marketplace to view specially curated collections that allow your community the chance to immerse themselves in the food, culture, and stories of Singapore.

Singapore’s literary landscape

Since its establishment as an independent nation in 1965, Singapore has transformed itself into a vibrant literary giant. Home to the National Library Board, one of the largest and most advanced library systems in Asia, and such literary masters as Catherine Lin, Alfian Sa’at, and Ovidia Yu, it’s little wonder that the nation’s literary landscape is as vast and diverse as it’s people.

Lights, Camera, Kanopy!

Browse Kanopy’s selection of dramas, romance titles, and animated films from Singaporean directors Anthony Chen, Eric Khoo, and more – all available for your viewing pleasure today! View the collection of films here.
