Welcome to the time of year where everyone is in search of that mystical and precious thing called time. No one seems to have any extra. We all want more. We want to use it more efficiently. And unfortunately, it’s pretty finite. Save for rearranging our clocks, how can we get more time and use it wisely?
Enter eHighlights!
As a librarian and selector, you know how important it is to stay ahead of patron demand and up on all of the best new books. It can be challenging to find the latest and bestselling content in a sea of new titles being published every day. You hate to miss a big title. Never fear! The OverDrive Librarians have done the dirty, time-consuming work by giving you the eHighlights. We scour professional review journals to find starred reviews, research high print runs, and comb through news sources to compile the trending ‘in the media’ titles that your patrons will be seeking at the library.
This month, we’re featuring our December eHighlights with the hottest titles released this month including The Seventh Plague by James Rollins which earned a spot on the iBooks Most Anticipated Fall Books list and Will Schwalbe’s Books for Living that has an impressive 100k print run. We work ahead so you can get a jump on 2017 with our January eHighlights edition and find new titles from Chris Bohjalian, Paul Auster, Roxanne Gay, Han Kang, Sarah Pinborough, JP Delaney, Peter Swanson, Douglas Preston, Ayelet Waldman, Colleen Coble, and more.
If you’re feeling festive, check out our special edition Holiday eHighlights to find holiday themed titles, new year/new you, undiscovered gems, and a great selection of adult and kids titles–ALL ON SALE! Included is a reason to purchase or brief summary with each featured title.
And last but certainly not least, we have a School Winter edition where our Editor and Teacher Librarian Sheila Henline chooses intriguing and fun reads for students of all levels as well as titles to integrate into the curriculum. Find a few professional development recommendations that will help teachers keep up on some of the hottest topics in education plus a selection of streaming videos perfect for classroom viewing.
