OverDrive Donates Kids & Teens Titles to Public Libraries Worldwide
260 high-interest always-available titles for three years from Sourcebooks, Jump!, Bellwether, Triangle, Lerner, Kaleidoscope and Rosen
CLEVELAND – September 1, 2021 – To help libraries meet increased demand for digital content, OverDrive donated 260 juvenile and young adult titles to more than 21,000 public libraries around the world. This bundle, part of OverDrive’s new Everyone Reads program, includes high-interest ebook, audiobook and Read-Along titles that are always available to patrons through September 1, 2024. OverDrive is the leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools worldwide.
This free collection allows libraries to encourage community engagement with young readers through book clubs, discussions and more. Notable titles include Inky the Octopus, Practicing Self-Care, Castle of Lies and I Am Farmer. Ebooks, audiobooks and Read-Alongs in this collection come from Sourcebooks, Jump!, Bellwether, Triangle, Lerner, Kaleidoscope, Rosen and Duke Classics. More information about these titles can be found here (title availability may vary by region).
“We’ve seen in the last year and a half the importance of ebooks and digital audiobooks in extending access, not just because people enjoy the convenience, but also as a means to promote safety. As a result, online circulation at our Library has increased monumentally,” said Jasmin LoBasso, Marketing & Promotions Associate at Kern County Library in California. “That’s why we really appreciate opportunities like OverDrive’s additional content, because it’ll allow us at the Kern County Library to stretch our collection and stretch our budget making it possible for us to meet that increased demand.”
New and existing OverDrive public library partners automatically received these free Everyone Reads titles starting September 1 which replaced the previous COVID Response: Kids & Teens collection. Other donated collections include Adult Fiction and Nonfiction, Spanish Titles for Young Readers, Social and Emotional Learning and Diversity Books for Students. New titles will be added to these collections in the coming months.
