Show your #eBookLove and celebrate Read an eBook Day with us on September 16
Mark your calendar for September 16th! OverDrive is celebrating the third annual International Read an eBook Day and you’re all invited to participate. This year, we’ll be giving out $1,000 content credits to a lucky 10 participating libraries and schools as well as tablets for your library users. Read an eBook Day is a yearly celebration of modern story telling. It’s a day dedicated to promoting the convenience, capability and excitement digital reading provides and your library could win big just by joining the fun.
Throughout the day on Friday, September 16 we’ll be using the hashtag #eBookLove to show how Team OverDrive is celebrating Read an eBook Day and we want your library and users to do the same. At the end of the day, we’ll select ten different libraries and schools from around the world, who have used the hashtag, to *win a $1,000 content credit to use in OverDrive Marketplace. To help you promote the day, your digital collection and celebrate we’ve created a marketing kit full of resources to let your staff and readers share the eBooks they’re enjoying during Read an eBook Day. The link above is for a zip folder of the materials. You can also find them on our Resource Center in the Marketing Page under Programming & Events
In the past we’ve seen libraries throw parties, use temporary tattoos and tweet out their #eBookLove in support of digital reading. However your library or school chooses to celebrate be sure to tag your social media posts with #eBookLove for a chance to win. The same goes for your readers. By using the hashtag #eBookLove on social media they have a chance to win a free tablet from OverDrive just by showing their love of digital reading.
Readers and libraries alike can visit the brand new Read an eBook Day website for more information. There you’ll find reading recommendations, links to social media posts, a place to share what you’re reading and even interviews with authors who are participating in Read an eBook Day. Show your #eBookLove all day long and join us in celebrating the ability to read anytime, anywhere!
