OverDrive donates “Everyone Reads” collection of 69 high-interest Spanish ebooks and Read-Alongs from Jump!, Rosen, Lerner and Triangle

 

 

CLEVELAND – October 7, 2021 – To support public libraries’ need for a wider array of digital content, OverDrive donated to 21,000 public libraries around the world 69 Spanish-language titles for young readers. This Spanish Titles for Young Readers collection, part of OverDrive’s “Everyone Reads” donation program, includes high-interest ebooks and Read-Alongs that are always available to patrons through October 1, 2023. OverDrive is the leading digital reading platform for libraries and schools worldwide and creator of the award-winning Libby app,

This free collection, an upgrade of the recently-expired collection donated in 2020, enables libraries to engage their community of young readers through book clubs, language programs and more. Notable titles include Serpientes de cerca, ¡Celebremos el Mes de la Herencia Hispana! and RecoWigemos manzanas. Ebooks and Read-Alongs in this collection come from Jump!, Lerner Publishing Group, Rosen Publishing and Triangle Interactive. “Over the past year, Harris County Public Library has seen the demand for digital material skyrocket,” said Oscar Lujan, Collection Development Librarian at Harris County Public Library in Texas. “Meeting the demand for quality ebooks and Read-Alongs for our growing Spanish reading community has been a challenge. We are excited to be able to expand our collection, with the support of OverDrive, by providing this collection of popular always-available titles for our youngest Spanish readers and those learning the language.”

New and existing OverDrive public library partners automatically received these free “Everyone Reads” titles starting October 1 which replaced the previous Spanish Titles for Young Readers collection. Other donated “Everyone Reads” collections include Kids & Teens, Social and Emotional Learning and Adult Fiction & Nonfiction. New titles will be added to these collections in the coming months.
