New year, new me – PD edition

The new year snuck up on me. When the clock stuck midnight on December 31 I was facing another year of trying to become the best version of myself possible. How did I even get here?
Luckily, I had already decided to try a new tactic with my learning and development opportunities to make the best bits stick—focusing on quality over quantity. My theory? If learn in smaller doses and try to apply what I’ve learned right away, it’ll sink in and become a regular part of my process.
If you’d like to try this strategy, too, OverDrive’s Training team will be sharing a short learning tip each month that you can use right away in your classrooms and libraries.
Here’s what we’re thinking about this month: sharing direct links in Sora.
What is it? If you’d like your students or colleagues to jump directly to a title, a collection, or even the login page in Sora, you can:
- Log into Sora from your web browser.
- Navigate to the page you’d like to share.
- Copy the entire URL from your address bar.
- Paste to wherever you share links (email, school website, LMS, etc.)
When the recipient clicks the link, they’ll be taken directly to the page you’ve shared.
(Note: if they’re not already logged into Sora when they click the link, they’ll be directed to do so first but then will go directly to the link you shared.)
