For Chicago Public Schools, a special donation with no waitlists: “A Promised Land”
During an online assembly on Nov. 23, former President Barack Obama invited Chicago Public Schools high school students to read his memoir, A Promised Land (Una Tierra Prometida). The new release was donated to the schools in ebook and audiobook formats, in both English and Spanish.
Access to this book is made possible through a donation by President Obama, the Penguin Random House Foundation, Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, and OverDrive Education. From the Chicago Public Schools digital library collection, these digital books are available to all high school students and staff without holds or waitlists until Jan. 31, 2020.
Students and staff can borrow A Promised Land (Una Tierra Prometida) using their school login credentials through Sora, the student reading app.
