OverDrive stands with libraries at Florida Library Legislative Day
Last week, Floridians gathered in Tallahassee for Florida Library Legislative Day. This event was an opportunity for attendees to meet with officials and speak about the importance of fully funding libraries. OverDrive congratulates Shane Roopnarine, president of Florida Library Association and all Florida librarians on a successful Florida Library Legislative Day. We were proud to stand with Florida libraries as they met with state legislators to support the budgets of all libraries, including academic, school, and public.
OverDrive founder and CEO Steve Potash attended Florida Library Legislative Day to advocate for libraries alongside our library partners Ray Baker, Director of Miami-Dade Public Library, and Matt Selby, Branch Manager at Palm Beach County Public Library.
While in Florida, Steve Potash, Ray Baker, and Matt Selby had the pleasure of meeting Florida State Senator Ana Marie Rodriguez.
OverDrive had the privilege of sponsoring the Legislative Reception. Steve also had the opportunity to meet authors Phil Bildner, Ellen Oh, Alicia D. Williams, and Dhonielle Clayton. They were in Tallahassee for a coinciding event celebrating the importance of diversity in books.
Now more than ever it is vital that state representatives support the budgets of all libraries. OverDrive stands with our library partners in Florida and beyond.
