Mid-Continent Public Library, one of the nation’s best and most forward thinking library systems, is celebrating its 50th year of serving Missourians and we’d like to say congratulations to Library Director and C.E.O. Steven Potter and his entire staff for their constant innovation and leadership in the library world. For the last half century Mid-Continent has served nearly 800,000 users by offering first-class access to content in all formats while standing as a pillar of the community, enabling readers both young and old access to education, resources and assistance.

To celebrate fifty years of service, Mid-continent is throwing a Library Lovers Gala on Saturday which will feature live jazz music as well as bestselling author Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl, Dark Places, Sharp Objects). Members of Team OverDrive, including C.E.O. Steve Potash, will be on hand to celebrate this special occasion and we look forward to another fifty years (and beyond!) of continued access to information. If you’re a local Missourian but don’t have tickets to this event the library system is throwing parties at all 31 of its branches this November.

Congratulations to all of our friends at Mid-Continent Public Library on this special achievement. Fifty looks good on you!
