As we sprint toward the finish line in the final weeks of the Digital Dash, I can almost hear Coach Gleason, my high-school cross country coach, yelling from the sidelines, “Save it for the end! Finish strong!”

He was right. Sprint too hard in the first mile, and by mile 3, you’re huffing and puffing with no wind left in your sails. That was definitely a freshman mistake. If you’ve been saving some energy for the end—well done! If not, there’s still time to catch up and get your second wind.

Check your goal progress

First things first: check out how your library is doing on your goals. If you’re already seeing 1 or 2 smiley faces, way to go! You already qualify for entry into a drawing for a chance to win content credit prizes. The more goals you reach, the better your chances are of winning more content credit. If you are already seeing 3 smiley faces, you can probably just stop reading now and go take a victory lap.

What You’ll Win

As a reminder, if your library reaches or exceeds their goals you will be entered into a drawing for the following:

• Libraries who reach or exceed 1 out of 3 goals are entered into a drawing to win $250 in content credit (12 winners)

• Libraries who reach or exceed 2 out of 3 goals are entered into a drawing to win $750 in content credit (8 winners)

• Libraries who reach or exceed 3 out of 3 goals are entered into a drawing to win $2,000 in content credit (3 Grand Prize winners)

Get Libby out in the library

Libraries who signed up to receive Libby marketing kits have received them and have already started using the banners, cardholders, and business cards to help promote their digital collection.

Hyannis Library (MA) posted a photo on Twitter of their Libby banner displayed proudly with a link to a Libby intro video for some extra social media promotion.

Didn’t receive a Libby marketing kit, but would like one for your branch? Contact your Account Manager and let them know!

Announcing the winners

The Digital Dash will officially end on December 31, 2019. Winners will be notified in January. A blog will be posted in January where we will congratulate our hard-working winners.

Finish strong!
