Spring into action with OverDrive’s free training webinars
By Sydney Kalnay, OverDrive Training Specialist
For many, spring is a time of renewal. The trees come alive with birdsong and lawns are awash in the first haze of green. For me, spring tends to mean one thing: restlessness. After being cooped up indoors for the long months of winter, I am desperate to get everything moving again and that includes my brain!
This spring, to give my mind that much-needed workout, I’m focusing on professional development opportunities. Through online classes and local networking events, I’m on the lookout for ways to collaborate with other specialists in my field and to learn some new skills. If you are looking for opportunities to do the same, mark your calendar the second week of every month to attend OverDrive Basics, the Training team’s monthly live webcast series on the basics of using OverDrive Marketplace and your OverDrive digital library website.
Join us on Tuesday, April 12th at 11 AM (EDT) for Marketplace Basics, a step-by-step demonstration on how to search for titles in Marketplace, create shopping carts to keep your content organized and purchase titles when you’re ready. This session is great for new Marketplace users, anyone recently given Marketplace shopping/purchasing permissions or staff who want a refresher on essential Marketplace tasks.
Our second webcast, The OverDrive User Experience, is on Wednesday, April 13th at 11 AM (EDT). This session will cover the basics of how to download titles to the free OverDrive mobile app and to enjoy them your web browser using OverDrive Read and Listen. This session will give you a first-hand account of what your end users see and experience when they use your digital collection.
We’ll also share information in each session on where to get help and training resources when you need them. Additionally, each webcast gives you the opportunity to chat your questions to our expert trainers, real time!
OverDrive webcasts are always free and we’ll send you a PDF copy of the slides and a link to the session recording. Can’t make it that day? No problem! Register anyway to receive the follow-up materials or check our Learning Center for the most recent archived webcast information for the month.
If your goals are similar to mine, I hope you’ll spring into action and join me for our April sessions.
